The Shoutbox is a module that can be placed in either column of Tiki. It serves as an internal Instant Messaging service for the site. Depending on the hardware though, it may take a few minutes for messages to appear so it is not quite as useful as it could be. Shoutbox is very useful as a means for site participants to communicate with each other. Shoutbox does not parse wiki syntax, which might be a feature request. It would also be nice to use Shoutbox for individual groups, but that feature may not exist.
