History: good_edit

A good edit is one that stands the test of time.

All editing is about getting good edits to "stick" and making bad edits to go away.

A good edit can be any of the following:

  • adds relevant and necessary information to a page.
  • organizes content to make it shorter, easier to read, or more clearly organized.
  • one which corrects a spelling or grammar error
  • one which adds links to relevant pages.
  • reorganizes or refactors a page according to wiki best practices
  • removes a bad edit

The "good"ness of an edit has nothing to do with approving or agreeing with the content being edited. Often a very good edit is one that makes a very unpopular position more understandable to those who disagree.
