The Shoutbox is a module that can be placed in either column of Tiki. It is like an instant message service specific to the site itself.
Shoutbox is very useful as a means for site participants to communicate with each other. Shoutbox does not currently parse wiki syntax, which might be a feature request.
It would also be nice to use Shoutbox for individual groups, but that feature does not exist, for a small fee or a large thank you you might be able to get a tiki developer to do that.
