good edit
A
good edit is one that stands the test of time.
All
editing is about getting good edits to "stick" and making
bad_edits to go away.
A
good edit can be any of the following:
- adds factual information that helps others develop and informed opinion concerning the topic at hand.
- organizes content to make it shorter, easier to read, or more clearly organized.
- one which strengthens a position
- reorganizes or refactors a page according to wiki best practices
- removes a bad_edit
The "good"ness of an edit has nothing to do with whether you
agree with the position taken or
like the person taking it. Often a very good edit is one that makes a very unpopular position more understandable to those who disagree.
Please restore
good edits wherever you see them, even if, ESPECIALLY IF, the author happens to be widely disliked.
