We need to pick 5-10 most important profiles which will be hard-coded in the installer for 3.0

As of 2009-03-02, and thus in 3.0 Beta1, only one profile is ready.

General

  1. Personal_Blog_and_Profile 1 person "about me" site
  2. Small_Organization_Web_Presence Publishing/Brochureware with UGC, but clear what is official vs user-contributed
  3. Customer_Extranet Issue tracker, customer profiles, product support, etc.
  4. Collaborative_Community User profiles, collaboration, users register
  5. Company_Intranet Closed team collaboration, users do not register

More specific

  1. Event_Management_System participants, speakers, schedules
  2. Software_Project Bug tracker, documentation, etc.
  3. Classroom 1 teacher and many students.
  4. Collaborative_content Multilingual documentation, glossary, etc.
  5. Ultimate_Knowledge_Management_Tool tags, mind mapping, semantic wiki links, etc.



Goals:

  • To give a feel to admins (especially new ones) about all the possible things we can do with TikiWiki.
  • Get them quickly started
  • Inform people that they can use these profiles later on if they use the bare-bone profile at first.
